Who we are
The Haitian Women’s Collective is a nonprofit organization founded in 2017 to amplify the voices of Haitian women-led organizations and change the narrative of locally-led humanitarian assistance and long-term development. Rooted in the belief that investing in women and girls leads to lasting change, we were created by Haitian and Haitian-American women to accelerate women-led local solutions in Haiti through a gender justice lens.How We Do It
Utilizing a feminist framework and a gender justice lens, the Haitian Women’s Collective employs a trust-based partnership model that leverages the expertise of local partners renowned for their community-driven impact. We foster local leadership and learning by collaborating with and convening Haitian women-led organizations and provide capacity building and flexible funding that advances equity and opportunities for women and girls.
We also advocate for international policy reform towards Haiti to support women-centered peace-building and local empowerment.

Our 2025 Fundraiser
The Haitian Women’s Collective will host its first fundraiser by bringing us together to celebrate under the theme of Chak fanm se yon flè, e ansanm nou se jaden an! (Every woman is a flower, and together we are a beautiful, thriving garden!). The purpose of our gathering is to come together to amplify the impactful sisterhood of HWC, and share about our success especially with our launching the first women’s fund in Haiti. This will also be an opportunity for supporters to join our HWC Ambassadors Program – individuals who have committed to help seed our fund with a minimum of $2,500 per year and make a difference in the daily life of Haitian Women and those they care for. Please join us on June 21, 2025 at 7pm, at the Aliya Rooftop Bar at the Indigo Hotel for a time of celebration, a flavorful sit-down dinner, cocktails, and curated auction items will be available. Of course, there will be great music!
We turn to Our Sisters, Brothers, Allies & Supporters to help us fund this initial stage to bring change and growth to the amazing nation of Haiti. Our fund ensures financial transparency and a commitment to ensuring we Fund Haitian women directly.

Board of Directors & Host Committee
Veronica Colón Rosario fiercely advocates for gender and racial justice, anti-colonialism, and human rights. She is currently serving as the Executive Director of the Fundación de Mujeres en Puerto Rico.
MADRE Executive Director Yifat Susskind partners with women’s human rights activists from Latin America, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa to create programs in their communities that meet urgent needs and create lasting change. A lifelong promoter of human rights, Yifat leads MADRE’s combined strategy of community-based partnerships and international human rights advocacy.
Marie Martha St. Cyr, Executive Director of the Lambi Fund for Haiti. Former Executive Director of the New York Aids Coalition and Iris House.
Natalia Caruso is currently the Director of Program Strategy at Equality Fund since October 2022. Prior to this role, Natalia has led strategies to resource local groups advancing women's health, ending gender-based violence, promoting economic and climate justice, and peacebuilding.
