Becoming a learning hub for and of the Caribbean
Strengthening Haitian Women’s Leadership and Collective Impact by Supporting Women-Led Organizations for a Stronger Haiti.
Strengthen Infrastructure and Organizational Systems
HWC organized a number of convenings to bolster the development of the Fund’s strategic plan through the exchange of ideas and strategies to better understand the capacities and needs of women and girls across Haiti.
- We held a "Listen and Learn" session with partners and feminist leaders to inform our strategic plan.
- In 2023, we held a 2-day convening of 20 Haitian women leaders from Haiti, Canada, and the US.
- Fostered peer support and connection, for information and knowledge sharing, for organizations advancing a feminist future in Haiti, through online communities of practice initiatives.
- Host quarterly virtual meetings for all organizations, to strengthen relationships, exchange ideas and grow partnerships.
- In 2025, as we work to launch the Fund we are strengthening our development and fundraising systems to enhance our grantmaking.

In October 2025, HWC launched the Fund for Haitian Women. This will be the first feminist fund in the Caribbean supporting Haitian women led local organizations.
Advance women-led organizations
We developed avenues for communication and strengthened mechanisms for increased community building among grantees.
Specifically, we:
- Fostered peer support and connection, for information and knowledge sharing, for organizations advancing a feminist future in Haiti, through online communities of practice initiatives.
- Host quarterly virtual meetings for all organizations, to strengthen relationships, exchange ideas and grow partnerships.
- Facilitating learning sessions through webinars on facets of organizational development, girl-centered programming and peacebuilding.
