In 2026, we:
Deployed over $20,000 in Hurricane Melissa emergency relief to organizations Neges Foundation, C2C Community, Capracare, and Neges Mawon
Awarded the first Fund for Haitian Women grants to Fondation Toya, C2C Community, LIDE, and MARIJÀN.
Pledged $120,000 over three years ($20k/year per grantee).
Hosted three events at the UN Commission on the Status of Women with partners like IJDH and Neges Mawon.

Haiti is facing overlapping crises, yet it is the strength and unwavering leadership of Haitian women-led organizations that sustains communities. These organizations are the first responders on the ground, addressing urgent needs resulting from natural disasters or unexpected situations, but they need flexible resources to act immediately.
In the wake of Hurricane Melissa last year, HWC partners were there to support communities across the country reeling from devastation and loss. Their proximity to impacted communities, relationships with residents, and experience allowed them to respond quickly and nimbly. HWC has supported their relief efforts by distributing $21,000 in emergency funds. As natural disasters become more severe each year, HWC wants to ensure our readiness to support women-led organizations on the ground, even before disasters strike. Emergency and rapid response funding also helps to fill critical gaps in access to basic needs for women and girls in need of immediate support due to displacement, GBV, and other issues.

To enable HWC to provide emergency and rapid response funding to our partners, we are launching a campaign to raise $5,000 by June 30th. Your support ensures women-led organizations in Haiti have the funds they need to protect women and girls facing displacement, rising GBV rates, and disappearing safe spaces.
