Haiti's women and girls are bearing the brunt of the country's crisis.

While Haiti shares the struggles of many low-income nations, it lags far behind on gender equity. Discrimination, persistent violence, and chronic health challenges continue to block women and girls from reaching their potential.

The situation has worsened dramatically in recent years:

Rise in gender-based violence
+ 0 %
Women and girls displaced from their homes
0 %

Stability, Care, and Opportunity for Generations to Come

Displacement robs them of safety, stability, and access to basic needs. The effects are immediate and risk lasting for generations.

That’s why Haitian women and girls urgently need a full spectrum of support—protection from violence, essential health care, trauma-informed counseling, and real pathways to economic independence.

Our Vision

A Haiti Where Women Lead

The Problem

For too long, Haitian women's leadership has been overlooked—even though they are already driving the most effective community solutions.

The Answer

The Haitian Women's Collective envisions a Haiti where women and girls have the resources, respect, and influence to lead transformative change. When women are equipped to lead, entire communities move toward equity, peace, and prosperity.

Who We Are

Founded in 2017 by Haitian and Haitian-American women, the Collective was born from a shared conviction: the future of Haiti is being shaped by women on the ground, in communities.

How We Work

Our team blends:

  • Local knowledge – decades of trusted relationships with grassroots leaders in Haiti
  • Global experience – advocacy in gender justice, health, education, and economic empowerment
We listen first, build trust, and amplify Haitian women’s work to the world.
Guided by feminist and anti-racist principles, we channel resources, visibility, and solidarity to locally led, women-led organizations—turning overlooked potential into lasting impact.
In 2025, we launched the Caribbean’s first-ever feminist fund—directing resources and decision-making power straight to women-led organizations.

We are proud of the work of the leaders, whom we support.
They work across diverse themes, in critical areas across Haiti, enabling girls to complete secondary education, providing reproductive health services during times of crisis including natural disasters, and ensuring the safe delivery of babies.
